Prior to Belmore Road, Scott and I have attended 5 different churches in our married life. Everywhere we go I seem to have learned new things that help me in my walk as a Christian. For example, in Magnolia, we attended Magnolia church of Christ. One thing they were involved in was Bible Bowl. Bible Bowl is when a book of the Bible is chosen and studied for about 4 months and then you travel and compete with other churches over the material learned.

Some of you may wonder what activities come under the umbrella of the Adult Fellowship ministry here at Belmore Road Church of Christ, and with what responsibilities we’ve been assigned. In summary the Adult Fellowship activities past, present, and future for 2010 are as follows:-

The most significant event that has already occurred so-far this year was Camp-ING, which in reality requires a very large collaborative effort from many church members, and a proportionally larger effort from a smaller organising group – none-the-less this is generously supported by all of us here, and by our visitors, and visiting brothers and sisters too. Can you imagine a year without CampING? I hope not, and it’s always a highpoint for the Team in the year ahead.

Each of these gatherings of Christians had their own distinct ‘personality’ as a group of people, but one thing that has been characteristic of all of them has been a deep and abiding sense of being a family.

One of the more unusual men to come out of India in the early part of the last century was a man named Sundar Singh. He was a Sikh who converted to Christianity and spent the rest of his life preaching to the Sikh people of Northern India and to the people of Ti-bet. He made several speaking tours abroad, spending time in England and Australia.
