Who’s Who

The Talleys are missionaries in Tanzania and Tim, Rebecca and Abigail will be with us at CampING next month. Tim is our speaker, Rebecca will be leading some devotionals with the ladies and Abigail with be spending time with the teens. So, to help us get to know them better, here’s some photos from one of their 2009 mission report. In the photo at left, Tim is centre, then Rebecca to his left, then Abigail. To Tim’s right is his daughter Elizabeth and her husband Bryan (they are missionaries in the Sudan…….and won’t be with us at camp).

Meeting in the Middle: In September we had a chance to be with our children, Bryan and Elizabeth (Harrison) in Nairobi, Kenya for a few days. They came in from Sudan for resupply so we drove up from Tanga to spend a little time with them before they headed back. It was such a sweet reunion!

Home from the ball, back with the mice: Abigail’s dog, Tuzo, has a particular dislike for the rather large rats around our house. She kills them at night and is loathe to relinquish them until Abigail comes to collect them and tell her what a good dog she is.

Trilemma: Like her sisters before her, Abigail has friends who are African, Arab and Indian; Christian, Muslim and Hindu. During the Hindu Diwali festival it has always been difficult to know in which activities our girls could participate with their friends. Fortunately, like her sisters before her, Abigail has a good friend who helps her under-stand what is traditional Indian custom and what is not … what is socializing and what is idolizing. Yakuta (left) is from Indian ancestry, but is Muslim and therefore very much against any kind of idolatry. She and Abigail (in her borrowed Indian finery) enjoyed an evening out with Hindu friends during Diwali, successfully navigating any pitfalls.
