I'm Tim Joe Mak, but for short call me Tim. I was brought up in a small island, something like Singapore, and it's called Penang. Situated in Malaysia, we are pretty close to the border of Malaysia and Thailand. Penang is one of the most unique places in the world, where you can find culture, a burst of colours, and of course F-O-O-D. Food in Penang has always been noted for it's originality and it's amazingly wide selection. Feeling hungry now? For those who know Sue Ann Mak previously when she was here - she is my sister and the only sibling I have - and of course I love her too much :) I have been in Melbourne for a pretty long time now, 2 years and counting with another 6 more to come. For a long time I have had an interesting type of hobby, which takes up a lot of time, lots of money (if needed), and of course lots of lives - not human lives but animal lives. I love marine fish, the fish from the sea like Nemo and Dory. This hobby, out of all my out of all my interests I do particularly like. I even keep a small tank in my apartment here in Melbourne. It amazes me how fish move about so bubbly and happily, while I'm sitting next to my tank stressing out with assignments. :( If I were to see myself in 5 years from now, by then hopefully I will be a certified architect working around the world designing buildings and their uses. Hmm, my abundant spare time? I wonder if I have ever had that here in Melbourne! Well if I ever did, I would head to Starbucks for a nice cup of coffee. I love sipping coffee while reading my notes and assignments. Ahh - coffee! One thing most people know about me is my love for music. Music has always inspired me to do different things in life, and with such an awesome gift from God as music, I use my abilities to worship Him and glorify His name. Many people might wonder that, in order to glorify Him, does that mean I have to become a missionary, work as a volunteer, to preach or teach? Now for myself, I might not be heading down that path. Glorifying God and spreading His Word does not only happen from these activities. There are so many activities we can choose, and of course each and every one of us has a talent given to us. God is NOT biased, it's just a matter of time - just when it is that you finally discover your talents and abilities. My love for music and my love for song always brings me back to God, knowing that at the end of the day, whatever it may be, God is the One who gave me this talent, and I should be thankful for His amazing gift to me. God work in many ways we cannot see, He is an amazing God and we should be thankful that we have Him in our lives. To me, there are so many little things to show that we love Him and we appreciate Him, but believe me, the smallest acts that people can't see can have the biggest impact to God. He loves you, and He will always be there for you, 24/7, 365 days a year, what better friend than God Himself? :D Thanks again, and may be the Lord be with you and bless you always. |
