Most people don’t like to be called ‘stupid’, but some time or other all of us will do or say some very dumb things. Some of those things might be genuine mistakes on our part, or they may be due to our lack of knowledge and understanding, or maybe we just didn’t think things through before we speak or act. No matter what the reason, we can still look or feel like idiots at times! How embarrassing!

Saving Light series

This annual event is planned by the Heidelberg West church in Melbourne for November 4-7 on the theme: “The Church That Christ Died For”.  Lessons are planned on the topics of: “Was the Church God’s Plan from the Beginning?”, “Jesus Teaching about the Church”, “The Beginning of the Church”, “The Church at Heidelberg West” and “Why be Involved with the Church at all?”

You may recall that with the rise of “DIY” home improvement TV shows there came a sharp rise in the number of people turning up to hospitals with injuries they’d received as they tried to do some renovation or fixing work at home. The DIY craze was also a DYI craze (do yourself injury). It was never as simple and easy as the actor on TV made it out to be.

Papua New Guinea Health Outreach - September 2010 PDF Print

This weekend we leave for the annual PNG Kibung being held in Alotau.  About thirty of  us will make the three day trip by boat, following the coast south to Milne Bay Province, stopping a number of times along the coast to drop off and pick up passengers.  We’re hoping for calm seas.

How do we define evil? Is evil merely the absence of good? Many people today would define pain and suffering as evil. They would say that physical pain and death are the worst things that humans can experience, and that to be good is merely to be pain-free.
